Conservation · Meeting of September 17, 2026
Mashpee conservation board approves Red Brook culvert, stalls four other projects over flooding and fill questions. The commission voted 3-0 to approve a culvert replacement on Red Brook Road tied to a $1.9 million regional grant, with $925,000 earmarked for the work, after APCC's April Vopst and engineer Neil Price outlined fish-passage and storm-surge benefits. A separate town bridge project on Great Neck Road North, presented by Tighe & Bond's Christopher Hull, was continued to October 20 after a late letter from state Natural Heritage officials.
Abutter Christina Thomas read a letter warning that a raise-and-replace project at 27 Kim Path would "display stormwater onto our property," prompting commissioners to request an independent coastal-geologist review before that project, also continued to October 20. The board separately reached consensus to pursue $300-a-day fines against a Waterway Avenue homeowner for a second illegal tree-cutting violation, and voted to spend $206 to accept a 2.6-acre land transfer for a new wildlife corridor on Degrass Road.
