Select Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026

Mashpee's Select Board withdrew a Community Preservation Act housing article from the October Town Meeting warrant after the CPC reversed its support. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins said the Community Preservation Committee voted 7-1 for Article 5, then 5-3 to withdraw backing, forcing its removal; he plans a Housing Trust meeting to resolve funding before Town Meeting.

The board also withdrew Article 8, a Zero Surf Drive land deal still pending a purchase-and-sale agreement, and added Article 14, authorizing a cell tower lease at 154 Industrial Drive "for the purpose of providing improved communication reliability" for police and fire. Separately, the board awarded PK Valuation Group a $170,000, two-year revaluation contract, 5-0, and tabled William Russell's nomination to the Economic Development Industrial Corporation after a member questioned whether non-residents can serve.
