Select Board · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Mashpee Select Board executes fall town meeting warrant, appoints Russell to EDIC over an abstention. The board added two new wastewater articles after Superintendent Jared Meader sought to codify a 2,500-square-foot limit on using conservation land for sewer work, and Treasurer/Collector Craig Mayen said the town will borrow $3.25 million for 121 days to bridge a wastewater reimbursement delay. William Russell's appointment to the Economic Development Industrial Corporation passed 4-0-1 after Town Manager Rodney C.

Collins argued EDIC's 2002 special act exempts it from the town's residency bylaw; David W. Weeden abstained. Resident Lynn Barbee urged the board to "invoke the Article 97" and replace any conservation land lost to sewer work.

The board also approved $8,560 in regional housing funding, a $709.67 tax abatement on Cypress Circle, and accepted resignations from the Conservation Commission that board members said leave it with a bare quorum of two.
