Zoning Board · Meeting of August 26, 2026
Mashpee's Zoning Board of Appeals extended review of a scaled-down 40B housing project and approved a home addition elsewhere in town. The board voted unanimously to extend the 180-day review period for On Commons LLC's Route 28 and Jobs Fishing Road project to October 22, 2026, and continued the hearing to September 23 after architect Chris Mulhern presented a redesign cutting the proposal from 65 to 61 rental units and from 96 to 91 parking spaces. Zoning consultant Lynn Speed and peer reviewer Daniel Riggs of Embark Associates flagged lingering concerns over a single elevator, unclear trash storage, and the absence of a children's play area.
Member Scott Goldstein said the smaller unit reduction "doesn't seem to make sense to me" compared with the developer's rejected seven-unit cut. Separately, the board approved a written finding for a rear addition at 63 Monahansett Road and continued a hearing for 68 Waterway to September 9.
