MASHPEE — The Mashpee Sewer Commission continued a hearing on a 12-cottage sewer variance after it lacked a quorum to act. The hearing, which seeks a Chapter 108 Flow Neutral By-law variance to connect 12 additional four-bedroom cottages at 275 Quinaquisset Avenue and an existing dwelling at 47 Papanesset Avenue to the Willow Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant, has now been continued for a fourth time since opening May 21. A presiding commission member said the body could only record, not formally vote on, a motion to continue the hearing, noting "without a quorum, we're not able to conduct official business in this case." The hearing is next scheduled for September 17, 2026, at 2:05 p.m.
No testimony on the project's merits was taken at the August 20 session.
